Florida offers some of the most amazing natural beauty anywhere in the world. With coral reefs, sandy beaches and the untouched Everglades to name but a few, Florida is one of the most sought after locations to live in Eastern America. Because of this, residential developments agencies have taken over vast quantities of land in Florida over the last 20 years building numerous new neighbourhoods. However with a mixture of the recent financial crisis and mass villa developments being built surplus to requirements, huge housing plots now sit partially completed among densely built up neighbourhoods and swampland.
This ‘boom and bust’ residential development has drastically affected parts of the Florida landscape, both for the best and the worst. Below are 26 amazing examples, as seen from the air, of these man-made Florida landscapes:

Last week, a Disney World bus driver was attacked by a tourist whilst waiting for a bus at a bus stop in the Hollywood Studios theme park of Walt Disney World, Florida.
A man, along with his wife and baby, were waiting in line for the bus. When the bus arrived and the people in front of the family boarded, there was no more room and they were asked to wait for the next bus. The man then reportedly threw the baby at the bus driver and forced his way on. A fight then broke out in which the man punched and strangled the bus driver.
Once separated, the calm bus driver tried to remove the man from the bus. Disney World security were called and the man was asked to leave the park immediately.
The video below shows the end of the attack and the moment the security arrive:
There is good news for families planning half term holidays to Florida as sterling this week hit an eight month high against the US dollar. At a tourist rate of $1.49 to every £1, Post Office Travel Money said that UK tourists travelling to Florida during the October half term holiday would have almost 11% more to spend than when sterling was at its weakest against the dollar back in May 2010.
Sarah Munro, Post Office Head of Travel Money said, “Florida is a magnet for UK families during half term and they can look forward to having more dollars in their pockets as they hit the Orlando theme parks as sterling is at its strongest for eight months.”
Post Office Travel Money Exchange Rate Movements in the US Dollar:
After dropping in value against the US Dollar significantly during the late spring, sterling has recovered 10.9% ($1.49) from its year low point (19th May) and is only 3.3% weaker than at its 2010 high point ($1.54 on 19th January). Compared with a year ago, UK tourists to Florida will now get just 0.6% per cent fewer dollars for their pounds.
An 18 year old jogger, wearing only a pair of swimming goggles while running through the streets of Florida, had to be stopped with a taser and has been slapped with the charge of public indecency.
Naked Gun: Naked jogger caught by police in Florida
The physical fitness fanatic, Antony King, was spotted on Tuesday morning running naked down a street in West Melbourne, Florida.
A police officer followed the jogger in his car, requesting for him to stop. He didn’t and so the officer gave chase.
Once within reach, the officer shocked the jogger with a taser and King went down.
King collapsed to the pavement and had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment with minor cuts.
On the way to the hospital, King reportedly told police that he had super powers and apologised for putting the Florida police to so much trouble.
